Pastorīs Christmas Letter

December 21, 2009

Dear Friends,

What a great day we had yesterday. I really enjoyed the kids as they shared their Christmas program. Thank you to all who helped.  And several have commented how they enjoyed our Candlelight/Lord’s Supper service last night. It was so good to be together as a church family.

I thank the Lord for J.D. Miller who has come to lead us in worship.  He loves the Lord and has a desire to help us express praise to the Lord in worship.  I hope that you will share with him how much you appreciate his ministry.  My prayer is that he will be with us for a really long time.

Our youth group is meeting on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings under the leadership of Mike and Jeanie Cox.  You may have noticed that is starting to grow.  It is so good to see our youth participating in the worship services – especially when they sit together.  Encourage them when you see them and pray for them as well. Pray also for our Youth Minister Search Committee as we seek God’s man for this important ministry.

Soon you will be hearing from Bill Martin, our Ministries Coordinator, as he shares about our children’s ministry.  If we are going to reach families for Christ, they need to know that we will love and provide solid Biblical teaching for their children. We can only do this if we have people to work in our Children’s Ministry. We need you. Please volunteer.

Beginning in January we will be adding Sunday night services to our weekly schedule.  I am still not sure of the format, but I do know this: we will be spending more time in prayer. The Lord has really convicted me that God’s house is to be a house of prayer. We will be praying for our church, our ministries, our community, missions and our leaders.

Another exciting thing for January: Brad Utley is starting a new adult SS class. We will provide for those who are not working that week in our children’s ministry as well as new families and guests. They will be studying books of the Bible.  Our community groups will continue to meet on Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings as well

I want to thank you for your generosity toward the families that we were able to help this Christmas.  It was such a blessing to see the boxes of food and presents under the Christmas tree Sunday morning. Audie Bradshaw, our Missions Leader shared Sunday night about one of the families and their thankfulness for caring for them in their time of need. This is what it means to be missional – loving people and meeting needs.  You provided for a total of 4 families.

Merry Christmas from my family to yours,

Keith, Sandy, Brandon and Christina
