From the Pastor´s Desk March 2011

If you tuned into the news this week you have heard some of the same headlines that I have: Unleaded regular gas in Tulsa is now $3.09, rebellion in many of the nations of the Middle East, states here in the US struggling over budgets, the government deciding not to defend the Defense of Marriage Acts and the continued struggling economy. When it seems like things can’t get any worse, something else happens. But my hope is still in the Lord. We serve a sovereign God who is still in control. Jesus is still Lord. Salvation is still free. Satan is still defeated. Our eternal home is still secure. And God’s Word is still true. So why worry about what is going on around you. Worry won’t change anything...except possibly to give us ulcers. But we can pray. As Ronnie Dunn said in his book, Don’t just Stand there, Pray Something, “Prayer means that I never have to say, “There’s nothing I can do.” I can always do something, something great, as great as Jesus did. Even greater. I don’t have to just stand there – I can pray something.” When the world has you down, look up. Talk to Jesus. Trust in Him. As the Apostle Peter wrote, “Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”

As I sat thinking about this article, the bulletin board in my office captured my attention. It is covered in pictures of family, friends and different events here at LLBC. The pictures remind me of the ones that I love. They also remind me that I have been privileged to serve as your pastor for 9 years this month...the second longest tenure in the history of our church. I praise the Lord for every one of you. Praying for you! Bro. Keith
