From the Pastor’s Desk – November 2013

In just a few days we will begin our Lordship Revival with Dr. Ernie Perkins. What is revival? Dr. Ronnie Floyd gives a great definition: “the manifested presence of God in our lives.” That happens as we allow our heavenly Father to be free to live in and through us, move us and shape us into the image of His Son.

As we prepare our hearts for revival there are a couple of questions that I want us to consider.  First, “Are we satisfied with where we are?” Are you satisfied in your Christian life with where you are as a believer? Are you satisfied with where our church is as we minister and reach out and grow together and become what God desires us to be? If we were to ask God if He is satisfied with us, I don’t believe that He is. I answer this way because there are still people that we have not reached, still people that are not touched by our ministry, still people who are ill informed about the love of God and His plan for their lives.

The second question: “Is God through with me yet? As I ponder this question two things quickly come to mind. First, God is NOT through with us in ministry until He calls us home to heaven. Nowhere in Scripture do we read about a “saint retirement program” while we are still alive. What we do read is that God has equipped each of us uniquely to serve other members of the body of Christ and together we minister and reach out to a world in need of a Savior.

The second thing that comes to mind is Philippians 1:6: “I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Until we are called to glory the Spirit of God will continue working in us to make us like Jesus.

We have an opportunity during the 5 services of our revival meetings to hear from the Lord and surrender our lives to Him and His leading in our lives. We have the opportunity to become what the Lord wants of us. But it will require that we submit ourselves to the Lord and allow Him to do as He chooses in our lives. Are you willing? Will you pray each day asking God to speak to you and to others who need to hear from Him? Will you commit to attend every service of our revival meetings?  I’ll meet you at the altar. Bro. Keith
