From the Pastor´s Desk - February 2010

I read this past week that Focus on the Family plans to air a Super Bowl commercial featuring college football star Tim Tebow. Tebow’s parents were missionaries in the Philippines in the '80s, and during her pregnancy with Tim his mother, Pam, developed amoebic dysentery. Doctors told her the strong drug they used to kill the infection had likely damaged the baby, and they suggested an abortion. Pam refused. Tim was born healthy, won the Heisman Trophy in 2007, led Florida to the national championship a year ago in 2009.  Tim and his mom will talk about their faith and her decision not to abort her son.  But there has been much pressure by abortion advocates on CBS to pull the ad.  Many Americans are openly hostile to the Gospel message and reject the notion that salvation is in Jesus Christ alone.    As I think of them, I think of someone else who was openly hostile to the gospel – Saul of Tarsus.  Can God do the same kind of work in other lives that He did in Paul’s life?  I believe that He can.  I also believe that He is calling us to work with Him in interceding for those around us without Christ.   Will you join me in praying for the millions of lost in our land and our community who need to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior?  We must pray if we are going to reach them for Christ.  Prayerfully, Bro. Keith
