From the Pastor´s Desk September 2010

What is genuine revival?  The word ‘revival’ has different meanings for Christians today.  For some it means a week of evangelistic meetings in which an evangelist comes and preaches the gospel and the lost get saved. But in our not to distant past, revival meant a time when Christians returned to a right relationship to the Lord.

The word ‘revival’ comes from the word ‘revive’ and is made up of two parts: ‘re’ meaning “again” and ‘vive’ meaning “to live.”  Thus revive means “to live again, to come or be brought back to life, health or totality.”  Revival is a time when spiritual life and vitality is restored to those who are already saved. Henry Blackaby, author of Experiencing God, wrote “Revival is for God’s people who need a fresh encounter, a fresh love relationship with Him. Genuine revival does not come simply by reforming or changing behavior...The only lasting motivation for obedience to God is a sound love relationship with Him. If your love relationship with God is right, your life will line up with His standards.1.

October 17-20 is our reFocus Week Lordship Revival.  I ask that you begin praying for our revival.  Pray for Dr. Wade Akins, who will be coming to challenge us from God’s Word.  Mark your calendar and plan to attend every service.  You will be blessed.  I am praying for you.  Bro. Keith

Our evangelist, Wade Akins, currently serves as a world-wide trainer in Pioneer Evangelism with Pioneer Missions, is a seminary professor of mission and conference leader for Lordship revivals throughout the US.  Wade served as a missionary with the International Mission Board in Vietnam and Brazil for 26 years and with the Home Mission Board in Washington DC.  He was written two books: Be a 24/7 Christian and Pioneer Evangelism.
