From the Pastorīs Desk November 2010

One of my favorite books of the Bible is the Book of Psalms.  There is so much in that book: praise, petition, intercession, confession and repentance and thanksgiving.  You can also find just about every emotion that you can imaging: joy, sorrow, peace and the calm assurance that the writer knows that God is in control.

This time of year I am drawn to the psalms of thanksgiving.  The Thanksgiving holidays are so much more than just eating Turkey and dressing and all the fixings.  Thanksgiving is a time to thank God for what He has done.  Many of the writers of the Bible did.  63 times the writers of the Psalms expressed their thanks to the Lord. Here are just a few:

Psalms 50:23 He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; and to him who orders his way aright I shall show the salvation of God.

Psalms 69:30 I will praise the name of God with song and magnify Him with thanksgiving.

Psalms 95:2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

Psalm 147:7 Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praises to our God.

We have so many things to be thankful for. I encourage you to join me in spending time daily thanking the Lord for His goodness, for His mercy, and for all the blessings He pours out upon us each day.  Bro. Keith

PS: We want to express our congratulations to Troy, Mindy and Logan on the birth of Ellie and Jason, Lana, and Lizzy on the birth of Katie.  We pray God’s richest blessings on these families.

Praise the Lord for a great revival meeting. My prayer is that we put into practice all that we heard.  Pray for Wade and Barbara as they are  in India, Malaysia and Singapore the next three weeks doing Pioneer Evangelism training conferences.
