From the Pastor’s Desk – February 2012

I was reminded this past weekend how fleeting time is. James wrote, “You do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.” James 4:14 NASU Time is so short that we must use every moment we have or we will waste it.

This is the month of lovers. Tell someone that you love them.  Better yet, show them that you love them. God did. He demonstrated His love for us in sending Jesus to die for us...while we were still sinners. The old children’s song is still true: “Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so...” Like Jesus, put your love into action.

Here is what I suggest:

  • Live in a way that others can see that you love Jesus with all of your heart, soul, mind and strength
  • Demonstrate your love to your spouse by serving them
  • Call you parents just to let them know you are thinking of them – that is one way to honor your parents...even when you are old
  • Show your love for your children by spending time with them every day – and teaching them about Jesus
  • Love your neighbor as you love yourself – and look for ways to express your kindness to them as well.

And because life is so short, do it now.  You may not have the time if you wait until tomorrow.  Don’t waste any moment.  Blessed to be your pastor, Keith

Oh, I love you too!
