From the Pastor´s Desk February 2009

Pastor’s Article for February 2009
As a child, one of my favorite TV shows was the Beverly Hillbillies. In one episode the Clampetts are on an airplane. Granny was scared to death, so she sat with her eyes closed and her feet up in the air. When Jed asked her why, she replied that she wasn’t yet fully trusting the airplane. Jed said, but Granny, we’ve been in the air for 10 minutes. In other words, it’s time to make a commitment. Similarly, it is time for all of us to make a complete commitment to the reFocusing process. We have heard from God about the direction He wants us to go – missional ministry or being a missionary church to our community. We have seen our past and the things we must change to become the church God desires us to be. Right now we are looking at our structure, our ministries and programs to see what we need to stop doing so we can do what the Lord desires. I ask your prayers for the RFT in the next few weeks as we work on this task and your surrender to God’s vision for LLBC. The plane has taken off, and it is time for full commitment.
The next 40 days we have designated as 40 DAYS OF DISCOVERY, 40 days for us to discover all that we can about our community and possibilities for ministry. In the next couple of weeks we will be going out into our community and talking with people, and taking pictures and getting a vision for reaching them for the Lord Jesus Christ. Plan to participate when your class/group is scheduled.
