FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK — When life is not going well God is not to blame.  Paul says in Ephesians 1 that the Lord has blessed us with every kind of spiritual blessing:

· God has chosen us for holiness and therefore we are declared blameless by the only One who could condemn us.

· Because of His great love for us God has predestined us to be adopted into the family of God.

· We have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.  In 1 Corinthians Paul said that we were bought with a price, and in 1 Peter we read that our redemption was with the precious blood of Christ.  Paul said that our redemption was through the riches of God’s grace - we didn’t earn it, we can’t do anything to get it, yet in His great love for us He sent Jesus to die in our place that we might have our sins forgiven.

· Paul tells us that we are “in on” the mystery of God - that Jews and Gentiles are equal heirs in the body of Christ.

· God says that we have an inheritance - in heaven, reserved for us.

· We have been sealed with the Holy Spirit who we received when we trusted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  A seal indicates possession,  The Holy Spirit in your life is the guarantee of the security of your salvation.  Paul said that He is the down payment on our inheritance.

· All of these blessings are for God’s glory - that is why you were saved, that God’s plan would be fulfilled and He would be glorified in your life. In Romans we read ‘in the foreknowledge of God we were predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.’  That means that besides all the blessings he mentions in Ephesians God ultimately wants to make you like Jesus and this brings Him glory.  My only conclusion can be, “If God is for us, who can be against us?”  Having a bad day? Remember God’s blessings. Keith
