From the Pastor´s Desk - April 2010

Easter is both a time of REJOICING and a time for WITNESSING.  The Bible tells us that early on Sunday morning they went to the tomb where the body of Jesus had lain.  But when they got there the stone had been rolled away and the tomb was empty.  Their first thought was that someone had taken the body of Jesus and put it elsewhere.  How could they not remember His words, “He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things... and be killed, and be raised up on the third day”? (Matthew 16:21 NASU) Why did so many doubt that Jesus was really alive? Even Thomas, one of the 12, said “unless I put my fingers in His hands and my hand in His side, I will not believe.”  But Jesus is alive!  We can rejoice with all believers that because He is alive all who put their faith in Him will live as well.  John wrote, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12 NASU) We are also promised that “whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” Will you, like the disciples who first saw the resurrected Lord Jesus, go and tell someone?  Jesus said, “You will receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you shall be my witnesses...”  Jesus is alive!  Go and tell someone!
